- Kanchendzonga Biosphere Reserve(Sikkim) is included in UNESCO’s World Network of Biosphere Reserves(WNBR) under the Man and Biosphere programme. This takes the number of such reserves in India to 11. Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve(TN) is the first one to be added to the list from India. Agastyamali Biosphere Reserve(Kerala) was added in 2016.
