  • Exercise Peace Mission(2018) happened at Chebarkul, Russia under Shangai Co-operation Organisation. All eight members of the SCO participated in these exercises.
  • Rakhal Das, Devadutta Ramakrishna, and Jhon Marshall were the key people responsible for the excavations at Mohenjadaro.
  • Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC) is the forum of 21 pacific rim countries formed in 1989. HQ - Singapore. India is not a member. Hong Kong and Taiwan are two independent members in this forum apart from China.
  • Nilgiri Thar / Nilgiri Ibex is an endangered mountain goat. Eravikulam National Park of Kerala is the home for largest ibex population in India.
  • Vostok Military Exercise - 2018 in Siberia, Russia. Other members are China, Mongolia, and Turkey(NATO member). It is the largest exercise to be held in Russia after Zapad 1981 under former USSR.
  • ARIIA - Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements to be launched on October 15th(APJ Abdul Kalam's Birth Anniversary) will rank the institutions on the basis of how well they fare in terms of innovation. This will work in parallel to NIRF. Works under the Ministry of HRD's Innovation cell.
  • Ghataprabha, Hemavathy, Krishnaraja Sagar, and Alamatty dams are in Karnataka.
