  • Initiative to develop and deploy ballistic missile defence systems for Indian cities.
  • Started after the threat of Nuclear Attack by Pakistan during Kargil war.
  • There are two stages in this: PAD and AAD.
  • PAD is Prithvi Air Defence, which is a Exo Atmospheric defence system.
  • AAD is Advanced air defence, which is a Endo Atmospheric defence system.
  • Only seven cities in the world has this system: Delhi, Washington, Moscow, Beijing, Paris, London and Tel Aviv.
